Dates: Sept. 14 – 15, 2026
Locations: Bognor > Wodehouse > Fox Ridge Rd.
Distance hiked: 80.7 km
The back pain I’d experienced the day before had miraculously disappeared. My body felt ready to take on another 40+ kms. When hiking, it always amazes me how much a night of a rest can heal the body.
The majority of days 7 and 8 were spent making my way down and around Beaver Valley. It was a relief to finally have plenty of water in flowing creeks. The trail meandered between farm fields and old growth maple forests. I passed ski resorts and sugar bushes.
On night 7, I camped on the edge of a wheat field in a nook of clay, which turned out to be the comfiest sleeping spot yet. Night 8, I slept in a hay field. Both nights I fell asleep to the sound of howling coyotes.
